This morning, members of the Catholic Business Network of South Jersey gathered at St. John of God Community Services in Westville.
Brother John Hannan and Jeff Sanders, chief development officer, spoke on the history and mission of Saint John of God’s services, which include job training, therapeutic recreation, pastoral care services and more to individuals with special needs and their families.
To understand the organization’s mission, Brother John said, “you must understand our founder, Saint John of God, and our Hospitaller charism. His famous quote is noted as, ‘Do good for yourself by doing good for others.’”
In addition to learning bout the nonprofit and one of its core programs – Holy Grounds Coffee Ltd., which provides employment opportunities for adults with special needs – Mass was celebrated by Fr. Joseph Byerley, pastor of Holy Angels Parish, Woodbury.
